A few weeks back I wrote a post about my feelings around the statement, “That’s easier said than done.” The above sentence and title of this post sums up what I believe is the truth in everyone’s potential.

I can’t tell you how many times I have met people who have told me about their big dream—and it stops right there. They live their whole life watching the years tick by and just dream about it and talk about it. As if it's always mean to be imaginary.

If this is you, I’m here to tell you: This is a huge tragedy to your soul.

I used to watch people achieving their dreams and was convinced they were the lucky ones. There was something “different” about them and I didn’t know what it was. But, I knew one thing: I wasn’t one of those people.

Sure, I was “happy” and that was enough. Healthy, good friends, positive-ish attitude and that was enough. I mean jeez, that was more than a lot of people, so I should be grateful and that should be enough. Right?

Yes, that’s all fine and dandy. But, you can have even more. You deserve more. We all do.

Maybe you just want to be happy. Maybe you want to open up a horse rescue. Maybe you want to start your own non-profit, or your own business because you’re tired of working for “the man”. Maybe you want to find a partner. Maybe you want to kick your addiction. Maybe you want to write a book, or even a blog.

It doesn’t matter what you want, but there is One. Essential. Ingredient.

Believing you can.

And not just in your mind, but in your heart. Because when you believe it your heart, you should feel a sense of excitement, a dash of fear, butterflies in your tummy, maybe a sprinkle of anxiety, and definitely a glimmer of comfort, even if the glimmer is as small as a speck of sand.

Your heart and soul want you to gravitate towards your dreams. But, many times our heads get in the way. That pesky human brain of ours.

So, right now, think of your dream. Imagine yourself doing it. Experience all of the details. Are you scared? GOOD. No feeling is right or wrong.

However, if that chicken-shit gremlin of yours is blocking you from feeling anything but major doubt, I am here to remind you that your gremlin is not your truth.

What you are at this moment is based on your beliefs. What you will be in a week, a month, a year is all based on your beliefs. And here’s the kicker: YOU GET TO CHOOSE.

I know all of this because I used to be a person with dreams, but no belief I could do it. I’d watch from the sidelines at what I thought were the “lucky ones”. And today, as I live my dreams every day and continue to do so, I promise you, half of the manifestation of my dream is believing I can.

And so can you.
