Welcome to episode 40 of the Your Kick Ass Life podcast, so happy you’re here! On this show we are chatting with the beautiful, talented asskicker Lori Harder. Lori is a 3-time fitness champ, self-made millionaire, network marketing professional and successful entrepreneur.
She has become the go-to leading expert in transformation work, mindfulness and self-love – three areas we LOVE to talk about on this show! Today Lori and I talk about her recent negativity cleanse, how to stay sane through the holidays and tools she uses every day to stay happy, peaceful and positive.
About her negativity cleanse Lori says she realized recently she had slowly allowed bad things to creep into her life and it was time to get rid of them. Those things were taking away from her daily rituals and practices that keep her healthy and fulfilled, things like reading, meditating and working out.
She found, like so many of us, that she was saying yes to too many things, to too many people and it was draining her. At the end of the day she didn’t have enough left to give to the people who are most important to her. So she refueld her practice of saying no. And she calls it a practice for a reason: it is something she has to work at and work on, it doesn’t come naturally.
We also talk about:
- Why it’s important to stop worrying about productivity and just be.
- How to incorporate rest and play into your life.
- The one question to ask yourself to help you actually enjoy the holidays.
- Why surrendering and letting go is so needed, but so uncomfortable.
- How to know you’re relying on yourself too much: the telltale sign.
- And much more!
With the holidays coming up she invites all of us to do the same: say no to anything that isn’t in alignment with our goals and our greatest good. If we do that we can avoid being exhausted and depleted; we can focus on connection and fulfillment by giving and sharing with the people and things that matter most to us.
By saying no and also incorporating daily rituals and practices Lori is able to stay present, and fulfilled in all she does. She recommends we do the same: find those daily routines we can rely on to keep us happy and grounded. She also suggests we remember it isn’t all about being productive and doing-doing-doing. Sometimes we need to just relax, let go and be!
It can take courage to do all of these things: to say no to people, to say yes to ourselves and our own needs, to embrace our daily habits that uplift us and to relax into the moment. But that is where we find our strength, our power and our ability to connect to ourselves and to others.
Lori discusses several other practical tools she uses, but one final suggestion she has to let go. Let go of the outcome of anything we do. Of course this isn’t our default nature for most of us, but when we let go of the perceived outcome we’re expecting we let go of the much of the pressure and energy we’re giving to a particular situation.
There’s tons more on this episode with Lori so check it out. She also gives us the real talk about where she gets tripped up and the reason she puts out so much content for her audience. Tune in for all of that and more on today’s episode of Your Kick Ass Life, with Lori Harder!
