Living a kick-ass life could mean something different for everyone. My version very well may not be your version, but if I had to, I could narrow it down to three important things that I think everyone should have to have their own kick-ass life:

Authenticity. This word has been thrown around a lot lately. I used to think it meant just being really honest with people, until the day I was able to take my own mask off and really know what it’s like to live authentically. It’s about trusting and loving your soul and spirit. Regarding yourself for more than just your physical body.

Have a strong sense of self. AKA: Self-esteem, baby! It is the foundation for your entire life. Without it, or with unhealthy self-esteem, it’s bound to bleed into all other aspects of your life: Relationships, money, physical health, career and your future. A lot of people spend 40 hours a week at their job, or 4 hours a week at the gym. Imagine if 4 hours a week were spent on yourself? Transforming and growing and just start by getting to know yourself? Mountains would be moved!

Believe in yourself, and your dreams. Create your own life. Whatever it is for you and don’t worry about the approval of others and what they may think or say. Besides, if they don’t like it, it’s most likely because they’re afraid of chasing their own dreams.

Don’t make decisions based on fear. I’ve done it, we’ve all done it. Take a risk every once in a while. You know, the old “road less traveled”. Go back to school. Change careers. Dump him.

Listen to your intuition. And yes, it is speaking to you. Most of the time we’re just too afraid to listen because it might nudge us to actually change our life. Your intuition wants you to be happy. It wants you to succeed. Sometimes our lives are just too damn noisy for us to hear it, but if we slow down (I know, what’s that like?) and listen, we’ll hear it.

So, I’d love to know. What’s your version of a kick-ass life?
